Swish Academy follows the USA Basketball Player Development Curriculum, which is based upon the scientifically-proven learning capabilities in Long-Term Athlete Development. Our weekend basketball program has three key areas of focus:

Introduce and Encourage
Share basketball to new players in new and exciting ways. Share what makes basketball great.

Develop & Cultivate
Give experienced players an environment that encourages them to improve their skill level and mental understanding of the sport.

Unleash
Motivate players to compete and continue to sharpen their talents.

Our weekend basketball program works with children in preschool, elementary, junior high, and high school.

 

Preschool (U05)
Developing small & large motor skills, culturing a love for physical play, and building social character.

  • Primary Keys: Large & Small Motor Skills, Balance, Running, Jumping, Coordination
  • Secondary Keys: Bending, Turning, Controlled Bouncing, Catching
  • Tertiary Keys: Passing, Shooting, Lateral Movement

Elementary (U08) & (U11)
Cultivate athletic ability, comprehensive understanding and develop fundamentally sound players.

U08
Learn fundamental movement skills and build overall motor skills.

  • Primary Keys: Running, Balance, Dribbling, Triple Threat, Lateral Movement
  • Secondary Keys: Catching, Passing, Shooting, 1/1 Play
  • Tertiary Keys: Rules of the Game, Team Play, Defense, Agility

U11
Establish building blocks for overall basketball skills.

Junior High (U14)
Further develop overall basketball skill.
